2 month well baby visit

Yesterday our little Eli, or shall I say big Eli, had his two month doctor's appointment. He is weighing in at 12 pounds 10 1/2 ounces and is 24 1/2 inches long! When the doctor put him on the scale, I said, is that too big?? He said no, he's a tall boy! He is getting quite the personality and talking, smiling, and cooing at me and his daddy all the time! I have never seen such a happy baby, unless he is tired or hungry! Yesterday he got two shots and screamed after the second one! Believe it or not, I had never heard him make that much noise except for the day he was born!

I can't believe that I am heading back to school in about two weeks! The time has gone by so quickly, and I know it will be hard to leave the little guy. Thankfully my job allows me to have a spring break and a summer vacation yet to come!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas:)

6 Weeks Old!

Eli is 6 weeks old today and boy how does time fly! We have the sweetest, most laid back baby and have enjoyed getting to know him. He smiles all the time, but of course we could not get him to for these pictures! Daddy gave him the punk hairdo in the second picture! This onesie says it all, the grandparents have already spoiled this little guy rotten! Eli and I have been staying warm and cozy the last few days and will enjoy this month before I have to go back to work in January.

Still Waiting...

Well, today is officially my due date and I'm still waiting for little Eli! I have felt like I am getting closer to going into labor but nothing big has happened yet. I have been having contractions for the last few weeks, so we are just patiently waiting for them to get stronger!! My prediction of October 10th and Scott's prediction of the 15th have quickly passed. The plan is if Eli does not come this weekend that they will induce me on Tuesday, October 21st. As much as I was hoping that I would go into labor on my own, it's nice to have an ending point in sight! I am just so ready to meet this little boy! Keep watching the blog, hopefully we will be able to post a picture of the little meatball after he is born! (I've just recently been calling him my little meatball, I think because he feels like he is so big!!)

Eli's Room

Eli now has some very special friends painted on his wall thanks to our friend Kyrie! She has been working hard the last two weeks to get this finished before the arrival of our little boy. I picked out the giraffe and the pig and Scott picked out the monkey and the tiger to add a very special touch to Eli's room. I am totally amazed by Kyrie's talent and so glad that she did this for us! Thank you Kyrie, we love the little critters!! 12 more days until my due date, Scott and I are very excited, but I am also getting very nervous! We'll keep everyone posted!

Eli at 34 Weeks, 4 Days!

Here's my boy at 5 weeks before his estimated arrival! Scott and I went to have an ultrasound done on Tuesday, because I was measuring big. They found that I have a little bit more amniotic fluid, but it is nothing to be concerned about. The kicker is...Eli is already weighing in at 6 pounds 4 ounces!! He is in the 88th percentile for babies that are 34 weeks! They are estimating him to be about 9 pounds, which was no shocker to me!! My dad was over 9 pounds and my grandpa was 12 pounds!! The technician kept going on about how much he looks like me with his chubby cheeks and big lips. When we were watching him it looked like he was blowing kisses to us! We were both so excited to see his face and are even more excited to hold him in a few weeks. I just can't believe this journey is almost over and I will have my sweet baby in about 5 more weeks!

Running Out of Room!

Scott and I were driving home from my parent's house last weekend when Blu found out he is quickly running out of room on Mommy's lap! Scott and I were laughing so hard we were crying when he stuck his rump up on my belly! We are doing great, 32 weeks today, which means I'm in my 8th month! 8 weeks to go, who hoo!!

Rock a Bye Baby!!

For my birthday my mom and dad cleaned up my wooden cradle, that I actually slept in 30 years ago, for my little boy. Well, this little, furry boy thought that the gift was just for him! He jumped right in it and both of the cats slept in it yesterday afternoon. It is amazing what these spoiled little babies think about all these new baby things! Two pieces of my nursery furniture are in, we are just waiting for the crib to come in and then they will deliver it all to the house. I wonder what Baby Blu and Cleo will do then! I don't blame them though, they have been my only children for 6 years!!

Good Test Results!

Today I found out that I passed the glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes, so I can have my birthday cake on Saturday!! I had failed the first 1 hour test by one point, so I had to do an additional 3 hour test on Friday. I feel so much better knowing that I do not need to worry about my sugar at this point. I have been eating very healthy, so I was not surprised when they told me all was well. This just makes me feel better about everything! Yes, the big 30 is happening on Saturday! My friend Mel is turning 30 on Friday so we are having a party for our family's on Friday night at my house. Mom is making a big lasagna, salad, and bread and Mel and Scott's parents are all bringing goodies too!! On Saturday Mel and I are having a "kid" party at her house where everyone will be enjoying fun and spirits! I guess I'll have to wait for my champagne until after Eli is born!! It is so worth it and I wouldn't change things for a second!!

Just as a side note, please say a prayer for my friend Megan and her triplets! She is in the hospital where the doctors can keep a close eye on her and the babies. The babies are doing great, but one can never have enough prayers!! She is hoping to cook the babies for a few weeks longer so please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers!!

27 Weeks, 2 Days!!

Well, another 2 weeks has gone by! Scott and I go to the doctor on Tuesday morning of this week for our last monthly check up. After that I will be visiting the doctor's office every 2 weeks! I still can not believe how quickly time has passed! Eli and I are doing great, the heart burn has gone away almost completely so I am feeling better. It seems that he is constantly moving even though he is more active in the evening. The kicks and punches are getting more strong, so I know he is growing bigger and bigger each day! I will be interested to see if I am still measuring big for this point in my pregnancy. It seems like I just grow out more and more each day! Scott says I am in love with having a big belly, and I think he is right! I love to see how big it is getting even though sleeping is not as comfortable as it was before! We have a big week coming up with our appointment and we plan on ordering the baby's furniture this week. I am determined to get as much as I can put together before school starts on August 11th!! Scott and I will be busy, but we have so much fun getting ready for our little boy!

25 Weeks!!

Well, tomorrow will be 25 weeks!! I am still amazed at how fast it is going! Scott said that my tummy size is now catching up with my back side, no this doesn't make me mad, we have always had an ongoing joke about this. Anyway, I am actually for the first time in my pregnancy starting to get uncomfortable. I have had heart burn pretty much 24/7 for the last 2 weeks. It's not horrible, but definitely uncomfortable. My family always says that that means that we will have a hairy headed baby! I can't wait to find out! Like I said, all is well, except for the heart burn and the belly getting gigantic every day. I feel bigger and bigger as each day passes, but I know this will only get worse! It is so well worth it and I couldn't be happier! (Sorry for those of you who were sick your whole pregnancy!) I will keep updating weekly to let you know our progress. Our next appointment is July 22nd and then I will start going every 2 weeks. I have my glucose screening next time, so keep your fingers crossed!

6 Month Checkup

Today was our six month checkup with our baby doctor. Everything is looking great! Steph and Mom went with me to hear the heartbeat. It was hard for the doctor to find at first since Eli was moving constantly!! The doctor told me to watch out, he's going to be really active! Like I didn't know that! We finally heard the sweet, little sound and it was beating at about 150 beats a minute. Dr. Pease said that I was measuring big, I told her we breed big babies, and she said that they would keep an eye out on the growth. My weight is good, I freaked out a little on the scales, but she said it was nothing to worry about that I should have gained quite a bit this month. Next month Scott will be going with me to my final monthly checkup, and then I will continue to go every 2 weeks! I will be in my third trimester soon and can't believe just how fast it has gone! He will be here before we know it!!

Father's Day

Today was Scott's first Father's Day, and boy was it overwhelming for him! The day started off by him being able to actually see my belly move when Eli was kicking and squirming around. He had been able to feel him, but this was a whole other experience! Eli was really moving when Daddy read a book to him. What a miracle!! I still can't believe I have a little person inside of me! After we had breakfast in bed, which he fixed for me since my ankles were the size of melons, we got up to finish our Father's Day shopping. I made a French Silk pie which was to die for to take to his parent's house. My mom, dad, and Steph also came over to have dinner. We had a great day and Scott got plenty of baby things with Daddy on them! After we got home we just sat and cried and talked about how lucky we are! We can't wait to see our baby boy!!

22 Weeks!

Today I am 22 weeks pregnant and 1 day! Tonight we went out for our 6th Anniversary to the Corner Wine Bar in Broadripple. Our Anniversary is actually tomorrow, but with Father's Day we figured we should get our dinner out of the way of the next day's activities! It is so hard to believe that 6 years have already flown by, it has gone so fast!! Scott and I had a great time talking and laughing at all the interesting people passing by in Broadripple. My favorite part of the evening was the chocolate mousse!!!

Baby Boy

For those of you that have not heard yet, we are having a baby boy! His name will be Eli______Dine, we are still discussing the middle name! Scott and I could not be more excited to be having a little boy! We can't wait to meet him and welcome him into our family!

Here's my sweet boy at 16 weeks. I know he has gotten bigger since then with all the moving and kicks. Mom thinks he has the sweetest profile and I couldn't agree more!!

21 weeks pregnant!
Here is a picture of my growing belly! I haven't really felt big until now, but I couldn't be happier! Eli is kicking and growing everyday. I feel like he might be working on a dance routine to break out when he's born! He is an active baby, and I love feeling his little, love kicks and punches!!

Here's my hubby Scott getting ready to paint the baby's room. We decided on a light green to go with his bedding. Being the animal lover that I am, I decided on a bedding suit that has dogs, pigs, cows, and just about every cute animal there is! I can't wait to get his room ready to go!

This is what the little dude's nursery is going to look like. I told you it was full of fuzzy, wuzzy baby animals of all sorts! My friend Kyrie is a fantastic artist, so we are going to try to figure out how she can add a special "touch" to Eli's room!

On Mother's Day Eli and mommy got a lot of cute surprises! I especially love the I love Mommy hat and socks!
